About Us
Myles Igwebuike is a Nigerian artist, designer, and founder of Nteje Studios. Myles seeks to embody an ethos of disruption, divergence, and innovation. He is fueled by his passion for shaping African design. He eschews the constraints of a singular medium, instead adopting a multi-disciplinary approach that enables him to explore novel concepts and push the boundaries of artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria and the African continent, Myles imbues his work with a contemporary sensibility that defies preconceived notions of African design. His designs are characterized by a seamless fusion of form and concept, breaking convention and stimulating interpretation. Myles aspires to create designs that not only exude aesthetic beauty but also compel viewers to engage with
them on a personal level, eliciting unique and individualized responses. At Nteje Studios, which is located in Enugu, Nigeria, Myles and his team are dedicated to creating furniture that
not only celebrates the rich design language of Africa but also explores various concepts from around the world. The company’s unique approach to production involves collaborating with local artisans, including painters, metal workers, and carpenters to preserve intergenerational crafts and create one-of-a-kind pieces. By prioritizing sustainability and ethical practices, Nteje Studios provides job security to local artisans and contributes to the growth of the local Nigerian economy. The studio is known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical practices, while Myles’s visionary leadership aims to inspire and innovate in the world of African design.
